Best Career Options after BA in Hindi

background, texture, abstract

B.A. Hindi Literature is a 3- year long undergraduate course in Hindi literature. The eligibility for this course is qualifiying 10+2 with minimum aggregate marks from a recognized board or institute.

Here is a list of potential career options that a Hindi (Hons.) graduate can pursue, along with important information such as salaries and job profiles.

Teacher

Teacher is one of the most in-demand careers right now. Students who are graduating after completing BA (Hons) Hindi are the most eligible people for this job. Job responsibilities for high school and middle school Hindi teachers include developing students’ writing and reading comprehension skills, administering tests and evaluating student progress throughout each term.

And apart from this, the growth prospects are also great. In fact, salaries have been rising a lot lately in this field. Right now, you can expect to earn anywhere around 2 to 3 Lacs, although a lot of stuff depends on how good you are at your job and the organization that’s hiring you.

The work-life balance is good, but that usually depends on the organization that you are working for. Getting hired is a bit difficult in this industry, but once you get a foot inside the door, only the sky is the limit.

Salaries are usually a little slow to grow in this field, but that may change sooner than you expect, given the rise of online teaching.

Content developer

Another amazing option for you if you have just graduated after completing a BA Hindi degree, is to become a content developer. Good salary, great growth opportunities, and opportunity to apply all that Hindi knowledge. What more can a BA Hindi graduate need?

If you don’t know, a content developer curates and writes articles/stories around viral topics. They are well versed with the social media and content websites. The work profile often varies with the company and your position in the organizational chain, but your major work is going to be this only.

Leadership and management opportunities are available in ample once you attain a certain level of experience, if that is an important factor for you in choosing a career.

You can expect your starting salary to be around 2 to 3 Lacs, but this is not a hard and fast rule. If you are applying to a bigger company and are able to adequately display your skills, you can get a much higher package. And as for growth prospects, the same rule applies. If you are good at what you do, you can expect quicker promotions and more leadership opportunities.

Work-life balance varies from company-to-company, but in general, your weekends are going to be holidays and working overtime is going to be a rarity.

Writer, Editor, Publisher or Researcher

I have bunched all these options in one category. Being a BA Hindi graduate, becoming a writer, editor, publisher or researcher is a good idea. Okay, sarcasm aside, becoming either of these is actually a really good idea. There is a reason that people automatically assume that if you graduated in BA Hindi, you are going to become an Writer, editor, publisher or researcher.

Writing is a desirable and sought-after profession for those who possess abundant creativity and have a way with words. Specific types of writers include caption writers, copywriters and creative writers, each of which has a unique set of responsibilities.

Writers begin the process of creating a written work by researching their topics using journals, books, interviews or personal experience. Once their work is on the page, writers revise for clarity and coherence.

No surprises there. I know it’s tempting, but don’t be fooled by the simplicity of that job description, the work is still work.

Monetary growth is slow, but quite steady. There is not a lot of travel involved in this job, but you may be subjected to a few transfers here and there. Not your cup of tea?  Read on, we got a few more options to help you along.

Reporter

One more underrated career option for Hindi graduates is becoming a Reporter. Think about it, you have studied BA Hindi for 3 years. Is there anyone else who is more applicable to become a reporter than you? Not if you ask us.

Reporters are responsible for reporting current events and incidents of national and international importance for newspapers, websites or news channels. Some parts of the job profile may differ from company to company, and the same goes for work-life balance. Some companies make sure that their employees have a great work-life balance; other companies not so much.

If you are a fresher in this field, you can expect to get a package of anywhere around 3 Lakhs at your first job. Monetary growth is slow, but quite steady. But keep in mind that reporting is never going to be a profession where you can get huge amounts of money. The money is good enough to maintain a decent lifestyle. Nothing more, nothing less.

The job market is brimming with aspiring Reporter, so it might be a little difficult to break in, but if you really loved studying Bachelor of Arts Hons Hindi Top Colleges, Syllabus, Scope and Salary, then you can be sure that you are going to love being a Reporter.

Translator

Want to do something that helps people in a tangible way? Want to bring real, positive change into the world? As a BA Hindi graduate, your best bet to achieve these dreams is to become a Translator.

So how does a translator do all this? Translators are required in various fields for translating documents in Hindi. For the job of a translator, knowledge of a language other than Hindi is also required. As you can see, if you really love helping people and want to dedicate your life to such a cause, you can definitely go down this route.

Work-life balance, unexpectedly, is a bit hectic in this profession because your work life and your personal life overlaps quite a bit. What happened during ‘job hours’ may affect your mood during your off-hours.

The best part about his job is the rewarding nature of it. You can go to sleep everyday knowing that you have helped someone in their lives, and they are thankful to you for it. Growth prospects are also good, and leadership opportunities are available from a very early stage. A lot of soft skills are needed to excel in this role.

Salaries differ from organization to organization, but on average, you would be earning roughly 4,00,000-5,00,000 when you begin your career. Monetary growth is slow, but steady.
